Golden hour magic Paterson

There’s something special about being invited back to capture moments for past clients. It’s like catching up with old friends, but with the added joy of documenting their beautiful lives as they grow and change. Recently, I had the absolute pleasure of photographing this family session at the stunning John Tucker Park in Paterson.

For those who haven’t been to John Tucker Park, it’s a gem in Paterson with lush greenery, towering trees. The light always twinkles through the leaves and adds that soft touch that’s perfect for portraits.

This family’s session was all about connection and joy. These three siblings – each with their unique personalities – brought so much energy to the shoot. The eldest was calm and poised, the middle- full of curiosity and good chats, and the youngest was a cheeky little bundle of laughter. Watching them interact, tease each other, and share those genuine smiles reminded me why I love what I do.

We started with some classic group shots by under and through the trees. From there, we ventured across the road to another little bushland reserve. Finding spots where the light peeked through the trees just perfectly. One of my favourite moments was sending the children to race each other, their giggles echoing through the park.

It’s always heartwarming when past clients come back for another session. It’s a testament to the connection we build and the trust they have in me to capture their memories. Seeing how much these kids had grown since our last session was a reminder of how fast time flies. But that’s what makes these photos so special.
