There’s something undeniably special about a midweek wedding—slower paced, more relaxed, and full of intention. This beautiful celebration at Kirkton Park Hunter Valley was exactly that… a bright, joy-filled afternoon shared with their favourite people (and gorgeous new baby in tow!).

From the moment I arrived, the vibe was tip top. Sunshine poured across the grounds, glasses were clinking, and instead of a formal bar setup, there was a wheelbarrow filled with ice-cold beers—simple, fun, and perfectly “them.” It set the tone straight away: this day was about connection, laughter, and doing things their own way.

The bride brought a playful twist to tradition, swapping heels for comfy purple sparkly sneakers—equal parts fun and practical, and a great pop of personality. It’s always so special to see couples truly leaning into what makes them feel comfortable and authentic.

The ceremony, led by the wonderful Sarah the Celebrant, was heartfelt, relaxed, and full of laughter. One of the memorable moments of the day, they decided to settle who said vows first with a quick game of rock, paper, scissors—keeping everyone smiling and perfectly capturing their fun-loving dynamic. With their baby and older son close by, it felt even more meaningful—a celebration not just of marriage, but of family.

As the sun dipped and the golden light softened, the energy shifted into evening magic. Guests gathered for food and drinks in the courtyard and reception room. Later in the evening sparklers lit up the night, creating a beautiful, glowing courtyard!
