Beautiful Extended Family Session
I travelled to Shoal Bay to photograph this beautiful extended family session. It was a windy afternoon so instead of the beach we headed up the hill in to the beautiful bushland. How amazing are those twisty curly trees!
Knowing you will be showing up to photograph a family of 30 people is quite daunting, but this group was a breeze. They came dressed in such a gorgeous colour palette, I was so excited !
A group this big definitely has its challenges – getting all eyes in the one direction, making the group look comfortable, trying to get the layers of people just right, all while making it look natural. But I really love how this big group shot looks! I then went on to photograph the smaller family groups, with the many combinations of children and siblings, adults and aunts.
These guys were all staying at Shoal Bay to finally come together (after all the lockdowns and restrictions) to celebrate the wedding anniversary of the matriarch and patriarch. And what a wonderful family they have started!

How sweet are these two together! I love these couple portraits so much.
It can be super difficult to coordinate getting a big family together in one place, but it really is worth it for the beautiful photographic memories!
