Artist in home studio

There is nothing more tranquil, peaceful, and wildly free than being in the Australian bush and painting her splendour. Rebecca Rath

Visiting Rebecca at her Pokolbin studio was a truely wonderful experience. She shared  her art and life experiences, her space and her joy. I loved photographing her place and the amazing landscapes she creates.

Nestled in the scenic vineyards the studio is a place where creativity flourishes amid natural beauty. Photographing Rebecca in her own workspace offered me a unique opportunity to capture both her artistry and the vibrant environment that inspires her. Her studio was filled with natural light and views of the valley behind. It provided the perfect backdrop to document her creative process. From canvases adorned with her bold strokes, to paints and brushes that hint at her ongoing projects, every detail adds to the story of an artist deeply connected to her work.

During the shoot, I aimed to capture Rebecca’s essence as both an artist and a person who draws inspiration from the surrounding landscape. Her hands moving with purpose, the thoughtful expressions as she steps back to evaluate a piece—all of these moments reflect the journey she undertakes with each painting.

Photographing Rebecca in the studio was about more than capturing art; it’s was documenting the passion and dedication that drive her. Photographing her here and in the surrounding nature shows her artistic vision and also reveals how her environment plays a key role in her creative process, bringing her works to life with depth and emotion.
