The newborn bubble is a place where time slows and love fills every corner of the home—but it’s also full of feeding, cuddles, curious dogs, and figuring things out as you go. This at-home session took place when this little baby boy was just ten days old, and it was the perfect snapshot of life exactly as it was.

With two mums taking turns soaking up newborn cuddles, the session was fun and easy. No pressure—just hanging out at home, moving with the light (which got quite dark with a storm rolling in as we went along), and letting bub settle in naturally. There were plenty of stretches, tiny noises, and lots of perfect sleepy newborn snuggles.

The two dachshunds were very interested in their new tiny human, popping in and out of the session and keeping a close (but polite) eye on proceedings. They added a lot of personality and a few laughs—because pets always make things better! This family also included a few special details- a precious blue bunny to cuddle and a blanket belonging to his mum. We used the blankie to lay him on for a different background to his sleepy shots. It added a personal touch without being serious or staged—just part of their family story, naturally included.

This session was about keeping things simple and fun. A newborn at home, two proud mums, a couple of dogs underfoot, and a whole lot of moments worth remembering.

If you’re thinking about an at-home newborn session, this is your sign—you don’t need a perfect house or a perfectly sleepy baby. Just show up as you are, and I’ll take care of the rest.
