Afternoon Sunshine in Morpeth
After a week of grey skies and endless rain, the sun finally broke through – golden and warm, just in time for this beautiful family session in Morpeth. After having to postpone the week prior, the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. The late afternoon light just streaming in, the grounds still a bit soft from recent rain, but everything felt fresh and lovely.
We met at Ray Lawler Reserve Morpeth, I just love the wide fig tree branches here creating a dreamy canopy. The filtered sun is always great and the glowing backlight beams are a photographers dream.
We walked around the dam and across the bridge to find a nice spot beneath the figs. What a joyful family of three, it was a lovely relaxed, love-filled session.
This sweet baby boy was all dimples, smiles, and sunshine. He is definitely a much loved little fella. He was clearly thrilled to be outdoors and loved being the centre of attention. He had lots of cuddles close in with mum and some fun high throws with dad. There’s something so special about photographing this stage of life – that beautiful blend of newness and familiarity, where love radiates from every touch, glance, and giggle.
As we wandered back through the reserve, we stopped again on the bridge to find those cheeky baby grins one last time. And some precious quiet, moments with his parents. So special photographing a family simply being together, sharing joy, soaking up the sun after the rain.
Afternoon Sunshine Morpeth felt like the perfect title for this gallery – a celebration of family and light.
