Dog-Friendly Photo Spots around Maitland
If you know me, you know I love when my clients bring their furry family members along for photo sessions. DogsĀ bring so much joy, personality, andāletās be honestāsome of the best photo moments šĀ (or do you have a cat, horse, turtles?)
Whether itās a branding session, family shoot, or just-for-fun portraits, including your animal adds a beautiful layer of real life and love. Luckily, our local area is full of beautiful, dog-friendly spots to make that happen! The council has a handy map of off leash areas HERE
I have put together some of my favourite locations for shoots with your four-legged sidekick:
š³ Maitland Park
This oneās a local favourite for a reason! Wide open lawns, beautiful old trees, heritage-style features, and loads walking path. Itās dog-friendly on leash, so great for those action shots while running/walking/playing together.
šæ Rathluba Lagoon ā East Maitland
A little hidden, but so worth it. Rathluba Lagoon has that peaceful, tucked-away feelāperfect for relaxed shoots. Thereās a great walking track, big lagoon, open grassy areas, and an off-leash dog section for pups to stretch their legs. Beautiful at golden hour too!
š Lorn/Maitland Riverbank
If youāre after a riverside feel with loads of natural charm, Lornās riverbank walk is a dream. Long grass, soft light, āitās a great open space where dogs can feel right at home (on lead). The local Lorn streets are leafy and beautiful for wandering too. Or on the Levee side there are paths, alleyways, and also the Belmore bridge.
š¾ Largs Bushland
Looking for a wild, earthy feel? The bushland reserves around Largs offer natural textures, tall gums, and lovely filtered light. Itās perfect for adventurous dogs who love to sniff and exploreāplus the golden tones here in late afternoon? Stunning.
š” Your Own Backyard or Rural Property
And of courseāsometimes the best place is home. Whether itās your backyard, farm, or favourite paddock, these spaces can be the most meaningful for you and your pets. Comfortable, personal, and completely yours.
