First Birthday at Home – A Sleepy Little Love
I visited this lovely family at home a few weeks back to photograph some portraits before the big celebration of his first birthday. Home is where the cuddles are familiar, and the milestones have unfolded over the past 12 months.
This little man had to be woken up from his nap when I arrived, he was a completely out to it and took a while to come to. He just wanted to stay warm and snuggly, tucked into Mum’s arms. We took it slow, letting him wake up gently before the fun really began.
The family had set up a beautiful little birthday backdrop — soft blue tones, a pop of gold balloons, and a Boss Baby cake waiting nearby. It was set up perfectly just right for a big one-year-old celebration. After a few cuddles we brought him over to the set-up. He was curious and cautious but looked adorable in his traditional garments. Mum and Dad joined for cuddles before an outfit change.
Next was the sweetest blue suit and shiny shoes. I just love how cute a one year old looks in a suit! He wasn’t super excited by all the attention but we manages to get some more portraits in from of the backdrop.
Last fit change was into classic overalls and white shirt. We got the cake and some small toys out too to see if he wanted to play. After a lot of singing and weird noises he popped out a few brief smilies before it was time to wrap things up.
There were giggles (mostly from us behind the scenes), amazing outfits, and plenty of sweet moments in between. It was a lovely afternoon celebrating this little milestone.
